With its Wrangler-esque styling and trademark off-roading capabilities, coupled with the added benefit of a versatile truck bed, the all-new 2023 Jeep Gladiator is back for another season of adventures! Thanks to a max towing capacity of 7,650 lbs plus removable doors and top, hauling through the Battlefords never looked so good. To top it all off, this mighty pickup is packed with modern tech, convenience, and performance features to elevate your driving experience to the next level. With 7 outstanding models plus numerous configurations to choose from, the folks at Scott Campbell Dodge are here to keep you informed on everything you need to know about this off-roading champion!
The Gladiator comes standard with a 3.6-litre V6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Available with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, a basic V6 engine is a fantastic option for daily driving in the Battlefords since it has enough power to reach highway speeds and low-end torque for off-roading. The Gladiator with the standard V6 has a payload capability of up to 1,700 lbs and a towing capacity of up to 7,650 lbs when correctly equipped.
With 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, the 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 engine is another viable option. It includes an automated eight-speed gearbox as standard equipment. Although we love the diesel's low-down power, its payload and towing capacities are also reduced to 1,325 and 6,500 lbs, respectively. Still, the diesel engine packs a bigger punch while hauling, even if it doesn't have the same capacity as the normal V6 engine.
The Gladiator is approximately a foot longer than other mid-size pickups like the Tacoma and Ranger, yet it has the same width as the Wrangler (73.8 inches). While all but one Gladiators proudly wear the “Trail Rated®” badge, it means that the Gladiator is ready to tackle any terrain ahead. Being Trail Rated means that the vehicle has succeeded against a series of gruelling tests in five categories: Traction, Water Fording, Maneuverability, Articulation, and Ground Clearance. Gladiator offers a full-time two-speed transfer case across the lineup that is intuitive and allows the driver to set it and forget it while constantly sending power to the front and rear wheels. The Selec-Trac transfer case with full-time four-wheel drive and a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio is available on Sport, Overland and Mojave, while the Rock-Trac Full-Time transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio is available on Rubicon.
